Empowering Mental Health: Anna Chandy's Approach through Individual Counselling and Certificate in Transaction Analysis

Despite growing awareness and advocacy efforts, society's knowledge of mental health remains limited in many ways. And mental health services are often inaccessible due to factors such as cost, location, and availability. That's where Anna Chandy and her organisation comes in. Today, with 25 years of experience, Anna plays multiple roles as a therapist, coach, speaker and trainer. She provides Individual Counselling and Certificate in Transaction Analysis.

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling, also known as talk therapy or psychotherapy, is a form of mental health treatment that involves meeting one-on-one with a licensed therapist. The purpose of individual counselling is to provide individuals with a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and work towards improving their mental and emotional well-being.

Common issues addressed in individual counselling

Individual counselling is designed to address a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship problems, addiction, trauma, and self-esteem issues. During counselling sessions, individuals are encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts openly and honestly, while the therapist provides feedback, guidance, and support.

Benefits of individual counselling

It provides individuals with a safe and confidential space to talk about their problems and feelings without fear of judgement. It can also help individuals develop coping skills and strategies to manage their emotions and behaviours in healthy ways. Additionally, it can improve communication skills and help individuals build stronger, healthier relationships with others.

Transactional Analysis

Introduction

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a theory of psychology developed by Eric Berne, which aims to understand human behaviour, communication and relationships. It provides a framework for understanding the interactions between individuals and the patterns that govern their behaviour. TA can be used for personal growth, therapy, counselling, education and organisational development.

Certificate in Transaction Analysis

In order to help as many people as possible with the benefits of Transactional Analysis, we need people who are trained in it. Certificate in Transactional Analysis is a training program offered by Anna Chandy. The program is designed for individuals who are interested in understanding themselves or becoming certified Transactional Analysis Counsellors. The program has two levels, the Basic TA 101 and the Advanced Program.

Basic TA 101

The Basic TA 101 is an experiential introduction to TA concepts, which is conducted over a weekend and offers a minimum qualification required to take the Advanced Program towards becoming a Certified Transactional Analysis Counsellor (CTA).

Advanced

The Advanced Program is a preparation for the CTA exam and is conducted across three levels, which includes a deeper understanding of self, understanding the self and others, and preparation for the CTA exam. The program includes training with international trainers and encourages trainees to teach and reflect on their own experiences.

Applications and Benefits of Certificate in Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a valuable tool that can assist individuals and organisations in improving their communication and developing more effective ways of interacting. TA can promote personal growth and help individuals build better relationships. Additionally, the Certificate in TA can benefit individuals in good understanding of themselves. The Advanced Program gives ability to practise independently as a Transactional Analysis Counsellor. TA and the Certificate in Transaction Analysis can provide valuable skills and insights for personal and professional development.

Overall, individual counselling and the use of Transactional Analysis offer powerful tools for supporting individuals in their journey towards improved mental health and wellbeing. By investing in a certificate in Transactional Analysis, professionals can enhance their counselling skills and offer even greater support to those in need.
